Program Information
The University of Wisconsin Department of Radiology offers a 12-month non-accredited fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This fellowship, tied to the Cardiovascular Imaging Section, provides training and experience in all aspects of MRI, including cardiovascular, body, musculoskeletal, and neuro MRI. The objective of the program is to provide training in routine and state-of-the-art MRI procedures applied to all organ systems. This is an integrated program aimed at providing the fellow with the knowledge and skills necessary to direct an MRI center in either a community or academic practice. The specific training program is tailored to meet the needs of each fellow. Fellows may gain experience in cardiovascular, body, musculoskeletal, and neurologic MRI.
The Department of Radiology has world-renowned faculty in each of the disciplines that participate in the training of MRI fellows. In addition, the Department of Radiology collaborates with the UW Department of Medical Physics in a large research program aimed at developing and applying new MRI techniques for research and patient care in cardiovascular MRI/MRA, breast MRI, neurologic MRI/MRS, and functional imaging.
