Edwarda Golden, MD joined the Abdominal Imaging and Intervention section as an assistant professor (CHS) in 2024.
Dr. Golden obtained her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She completed her diagnostic radiology residency and body magnetic resonance imaging fellowship at Johns Hopkins.

Why did you choose radiology?
Radiology offered the perfect mix of diagnostic problem solving, hands-on procedures, and the ability to help patients of all ages, pathology, and acuity.
What are your career interests and goals?
I hope to play a part in improving clinical care by using and developing novel image-guided treatments.
I also hope to play a role in undergraduate medical education, recruitment, and retention. As a former first-generation college student, I am interested in expanding outreach to students from varied backgrounds.
What are your professional interests?
Abdominal interventions, women’s imaging, and medical education.
Why did you choose to work at UW–Madison?
I have long admired UW–Madison’s abdominal imaging section, particularly their work in advancing image-guided ablations and other procedures. I am honored to have the opportunity to return to UW, where I attended medical school and first fell in love with radiology.
What are your hobbies?
Reading, running, travel, and spending time with family.
