
Jennifer Febbo, MD joined the Section of Thoracic Imaging as an associate professor (CHS) in 2025.
Dr. Febbo obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2014. She completed a transitional year internship at Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program. Dr. Febbo returned to Chicago to complete a diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine residency at Rush University Medical Center in 2019. She finished her training with a fellowship in cardiothoracic radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Where are you from?
I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but grew up in Middleton, Wisconsin.
Why did you choose radiology?
It’s the most interesting field in medicine. We get to look inside numerous patients every day. It requires an array of tools for problem solving, including knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical medicine, and discussions with colleagues of all sorts.
What are your professional interests?
Thoracic infection, lung cancer screening and improving access to care, deployment-related lung disease, and cardiovascular imaging.
Why did you choose to work at UW–Madison?
I could not pass up the opportunity to work with such a renowned department. I’ve admired the Section of Thoracic Imaging from afar and am very excited to be able to join the group in caring for the people of Wisconsin.
What are your hobbies?
Playing with my dog and cats, mountain biking, reading, camping, and playing video games.
