Aaron LeBeau, PhD was featured on an NBC 15 news segment and article “Can sharks cure cancer? UW-Madison research shows positive advancements” on October 20, 2024.

The associate professor in the UW Departments of Radiology and Pathology & Laboratory Medicine discussed his work developing shark antibodies for cancers, COVID-19 and even proteins found in Alzheimer’s.

“We’re making new discoveries everyday,” he said. “This is the only laboratory of its kind in the world that is developing shark antibody therapies for cancer.”

Current projects are focused on lung and breast cancers that LeBeau hopes will lead to clinical trials within five years.
