We aim to precisely localize sites of pain generation and improve our understanding of nociception and inflammation using a novel, hybrid PET/MRI approach in conjunction with intravenously, administered radiomanganese (51Mn), which has been shown in PET imaging to be an accurate surrogate marker of calcium signaling. Ultrasounds will be used as a diagnostic tool and for US-guided dry needle therapy.
