Las Vegas, NV
Why did you choose radiology?
It really connected my hobbyist interest in technology, my academic interest in anatomy and my love of teaching. We use technology to look inside the body in a remarkable and completely noninvasive way, analyze what we see and use that information to provide invaluable information about patients to our clinical colleagues. We teach every day through our reports and clinical consultations.
What are your professional interests?
I’m very interested in trainee education, including traditional methods like lectures and apprenticeship-style instruction and workstations. But I’m also interested in using technology to provide novel educational experiences and feedback opportunities for residents and fellows. I’m also interested in finding new ways to improve the medical student experience and get them excited about radiology, so we continue to recruit the brightest and best to our specialty.
Why did you choose to work at UW–Madison?
I was fortunate enough to know several faculty members in the department who painted a very compelling picture of the culture, the quality of work and the opportunities that would be available to me as a member of the faculty at UW–Madison. It doesn’t hurt that Madison is a beautiful and fun place to live, but my primary motivation was the work environment.
What are your hobbies?
Despite my love of technology, I have a soft spot for physical media. I love exploring record stores and bookshops! I have a growing vinyl record and hardcover book collection, as well as card and board games to play with friends. I especially love music and am always on the hunt for new releases. I’m fortunate to live in Madison which has several great concert venues downtown!
