In an October 22, 2025, News 3 Now segment, Ryan Woods, MD, MPH helped raise awareness of breast cancer occurrence in men and what symptoms to look out for.
Dr. Woods noted that that there is often a delay in diagnosis for men due to the rarity as well as the assumption that men don’t get breast cancer. Longer delays often mean a poorer prognosis.
To ensure a timely diagnosis, Dr. Woods advises men to be aware of the potential symptoms. “If you find anything in the breast – a palpable abnormality, a difference in appearance of the nipple, or nipple discharge – then those are important things to bring up to your doctor.”
