Urethral Diverticulum

History: 64 yo female with incontinence and recurrent UTI\'s
Solution: Urethral diverticula are most frequently associated with obstruction of the paraurethral glands and subsequent infection and rupture into the urethra vs trauma related to catheterization or childbirth. They most frequently occur in women along the posterolateral aspect of the midurethra. They can often be palpated along the anterior aspect of the bladder and purulent material may be expressed. Typical history is dribbling after voiding. VCUG is the most common work-up with the findings on this study being fairly typical. MRI can also be performed and give similar information. These can uncommonly undergo malignant degeneration.
