Where are you from?
Ames, Iowa

Why did you choose radiology?
Knowing I wanted a fast-paced, hands-on and technologically driven specialty, I considered surgery or interventional medical subspecialties. It wasn’t until the third year of medical school when I was introduced to the field of interventional radiology, which I realized fit the bill perfectly. I was lucky enough to fall in love with the field of diagnostic radiology as well.

What are your professional interests?
One of the reasons I joined the medical field was to provide patient care, so one of my priorities is excellent clinical practice. I also am deeply indebted to all my mentors and teachers along the way, so I want to give back to the residents and medical students who spend time in radiology. I also hope to expand access to the field of interventional radiology for more patients.

Why did you choose to work at UW–Madison?
Having spent the last five years at the UW as a trainee, it was an easy decision to stay, mainly owing to the people that make up the department.

What are your hobbies?
Spending time with my wife and our cats, cycling, cooking, board games and golf.
