Jeffrey Swick, MD joined the Community Radiology division as a Clinical Assistant Professor in 2024. 
He obtained his medical degree from UW School of Medicine and Public Health and completed his internship at Wheaton Franciscan- St. Joseph Hospital. Dr. Swick returned to Wisconsin for his residency and Musculoskeletal Imaging fellowship, which he completed at UW Hospitals & Clinics.
After completing his residency and Musculoskeletal Imaging fellowship at UW Hospital and Clinics, he practiced at Minneapolis Radiology Associates and then The Radiology Group in Beaverton, OR.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Wisconsin, but I raised my children in Minnesota, so I feel that home is both Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Why did you choose radiology?
I love trying to solve the puzzle! My favorite thing is when I can use the imaging findings, clinical details, and knowledge of anatomy to come up with a single diagnosis to help the patient.
What are your career interests and goals?
I look forward to lifelong learning to both deepen and broaden my skillset. I am also interested in teaching residents and fellows about emergency radiology and musculoskeletal radiology.
What are your professional interests?
My professional interests include musculoskeletal MRI, Emergency and Inpatient radiology, and anatomy. Correlation of Xray findings to findings on US, MRI, and CT is also especially fascinating to me.
Why did you choose to work at UW–Madison?
The people! I loved my time at UW–Madison for residency and fellowship, so I am very excited to return. The radiologists are the leaders in their respective fields but are also exceedingly kind and easy to work with. It was an easy choice to take this opportunity.
What are your hobbies?
I like to stay active with biking, running, and pickleball. On the weekends, I love biking with my kids to the library and the city pool. I also love a good audiobook.
