After ten unforgettable years of service with the department, Ruth Haima will retire at the beginning of July. As the UW Hospital Administrative Operations Assistant, she has served as a cornerstone of the department.
From the very beginning, Haima has been a force of nature, bringing a contagious enthusiasm to every project and interaction. Whether facing a challenge head-on or going the extra mile to support a colleague, Haima did it all with purpose and determination. She was mission-driven to make things better for others and never left a to-do list unchecked.
“Ruth has always brought a positive attitude to the workplace and the engagement she’s had in her role has positively impacted the entire department,” noted Senior Director of Radiology Gina Greenwood, MBA. “She’s continuously displayed persistence in the face of obstacles and determination to see projects through to completion.”
One of Haima’s most memorable qualities has been her deep gratitude for being part of UW Health Radiology. That sense of thankfulness showed in everything she did from the relationships she built, to the care she gave to every task, and the pride with which she represented the department.
Reflecting on her time, Haima shared that some of her fondest memories are preparing for Rad Tech Week, making friends and developing connections throughout the hospital, and being empowered in her role.
“It’s been uplifting to witness Ruth’s strong sense of pride about working for UW Health and contributing to the success of the organization,” said Greenwood. “She’ll be dearly missed but we wish her a happy and fulfilling retirement!”
Haima looks forward to traveling in her retirement, and tapping into her creative side to make crafts.
