We are delighted to share that Jason Chiang has been chosen as a recipient of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) TL1 Award! Chiang is mentored by UW Radiology’s Dr. Chris Brace.
Chiang is working on developing devices and techniques for microwave ablation technology. His project assesses the risk of endothelial wall damage in blood vessels downstream from nearby microwave tumor ablation. Completion of this project will lead to directly applicable metrics that can guide procedures and patient care in tumor ablation clinics worldwide.
The ICTR Pre-doctoral Training (TL1) Program began in September 2007 with the award of the Clinical and Translational Science Award to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The program works to train future clinical and translational leaders and to expose all UW health care professionals and engineering students to the scientific foundation of this discipline. Benefits of the program include a full NIH stipend, tuition, fees, and travel funds for a maximum of two years.
