The Department of Radiology welcomes Dr. Benjamin Austin who will be starting as a Postdoctoral fellow in September, 2010. He recently received a T32 Postdoctoral Training Grant from the UW Cardiovascular Research Center Training Program. His fellowship will focus on characterizing stroke and aging related changes in the brain using multimodal imaging techniques such as fMRI/DTI/Perfusion/Vascular imaging as well as behavioral measures. He will be mentored by Dr. Vivek Prabhakaran, Dr. Cynthia Carlsson (Department of Medicine), and Dr. Rasmus Birn (Department of Psychiatry). Dr. Austin received his PhD in Cognitive/Experimental Psychology from the University of Georgia on characterizing cognition in Schizophrenic patients utilizing fMRI.
