Biography
Anna O. Giarratana, MD, PhD, was born and raised in the the land of Bon Jovi and Taylor Ham, otherwise known as New Jersey. She earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. She then returned to New Jersey, where she earned her master’s degree in biomedical sciences, her PhD in neuroscience, and her MD from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Between completing her PhD and MD, she received a Fulbright fellowship to conduct a postdoctoral research project using fMRI in Zürich, Switzerland. She enjoys any kind of project, including creating her own charcuterie, roasting coffee beans, and experimenting with fermentation. When not working or engaged in projects, she loves any outdoor activity, especially if it involves being out on the water!
