Biography
Wenhui Zhou, MD, PhD is a radiologist specializing in breast and PET imaging who joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2025. Dr. Zhou received his MD and PhD degrees from Tufts University. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency and fellowship training at Stanford University.
He has published cancer biology and imaging research as the lead author in journals including JAMA Network Open, Cell Reports and Radiology. He is a recipient of the RSNA Roentgen Resident Research Award, SNMMI Ones to Watch Award, ECOG-ACRIN Young Investigator Translational Research Award, and the ASCI Emerging Generation Physician Scientist Award. He is a member of the Radiology Editorial Board and the Academy for Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research’s Council.
As a physician-scientist, Dr. Zhou is passionate about combining research innovation and clinical expertise to personalize breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. His current research focuses on precision cancer imaging with two complementary approaches: 1) integrating multimodal imaging and non-imaging data, and 2) validating new biologically targeted radiopharmaceuticals. The overall goal is to create more personalized and effective solutions for detecting, diagnosing, and guiding the treatment of cancer. His work is funded by the RSNA R&E Foundation, Smart Foundation, and Philips Healthcare.
Outside of his clinical and academic interests, Wenhui enjoys food, taking walks, and spending time with family and friends.
