Q: Where are you from?
A: I was born in Seattle, Washington, but I grew up in Michigan. I did all of my schooling at the University of Michigan – a Bachelors and a Masters in Electrical Engineering as well as a Masters and a PhD in Bioengineering.
Q: Why did you choose radiology?
A: My dad was a radiologist, which I’m sure influenced me. The summer after I graduated with my undergraduate degree, I had a job with GE in the MR business unit. I loved MR, and decided to focus on that going forward.
Q: What are your career interests and goals?
A: I’m excited to work as a part of team and contribute my expertise to others.
Q: What are your research interests?
A: I’ve worked a lot on developing technology for MRI scanners. I’m really interested in finding ways to improve MRI scanners so that they have the most value for the patient, for the radiologist, for the technologist – for the whole clinical system.
Q: Why did you choose to work at UW?
A: I have always seen UW’s Radiology and Medical Physics programs as among the strongest in the country. I’ve always looked up to this group, and I value the community that’s here.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I love to run, hike, and be outside. I also enjoy canoeing and kayaking – and am excited to be near the water in here in Madison!
