
Weibo Cai, PhD has been elected as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world’s largest general scientific society. AAAS fellows are selected for their achievements across disciplines, from research, teaching and technology to administration in academia, industry and government to excellence in communicating and interpreting science to the public.
For nearly two decades, Dr. Cai’s research in molecular imaging and nanobiotechnology has advanced the treatment of cancer and other diseases through biomedical application of radiolabeled nanomaterials. He has authored over 410 peer-reviewed articles, edited three books, delivered 380 talks, and served on the editorial boards of more than 20 scientific journals.
Dr. Cai’s commitment to mentorship also earned him the 2025 American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) Professional Impact Award for Mentoring.
