Case: 145

Endometriosis Of The Abdominal Wall

Show

History: 36 yo female with episodic and recurrent right abdominal wall and pelvic pain
Solution: Endometriosis and endometriomas. If there is a pathway for the cells to get there, then they can find a way. In this case, the patient had a previous laparoscopy and the endometriosis had made its way up the port site and formed an endometrioma in the abdominal wall. As you likely know, the treatment options for this include pain relief, hormonal therapy to control the cyclical changes and surgery. This condition can be very difficult to treat and can be life-altering. This patient also had an endometrioma in the pelvis, which can be seen on the CT images.
