Show

History: 40 yo female with h/o infertility.
Solution: Salpingitis isthmica nodosa is an inflammatory and probably post-infectious disease of the fallopian tubes that is characterized by multiple diverticula. It may be associated with tubal obstruction and is best characterized with HSG. At laparoscopy, this can be seen as nodular thickening of the tubes. Tubal reconstruction can be attempted, but is not always successful. These patients are at increased risk of ectopic pregnancy.
