Dr. Kanne wins Editor’s Recognition Award from Radiology

On May 13, Dr. Jeffrey P. Kanne received the honor of the 2012 Editor’s Recognition Award with Distinction from the journal Radiology. The recognition, according to a statement by Editor Herbert Y. Kressel, M.D., is awarded to only the top 10 per cent of journal reviewers and recognizes, “prompt, detailed and scholarly reviews.”

Dr. Kanne has previously been closely involved with the world of publishing. In addition to co-authoring more than 50 articles, Kanne has also published a textbook on thoracic imaging. He was awarded the Melvin M. Figley Fellowship in Radiology Journalism in 2010, and named Assistant Editor for the American Journal of Roentgenology’s Integrative Imaging section in July 2011 and Consulting Editor for Digital Media for the Journal of Thoracic Imaging in January 2012.

Dr. Kanne regularly reviews manuscripts for Radiology, AJR, Chest, European Radiology, Respiratory Care, and the Journal of Thoracic Imaging. The Department congratulates him on this recent award, and appreciates his hard work bridging research and publishing.
