Dr. Rowley Appointed to RSNA International Visiting Professor Program

Posted on July 2010

The RSNA Committee on International Relations and Education (CIRE) has appointed Dr. Howard A. Rowley to the 2011 RSNA International Visiting Professor (IVP) Program, with a first destination of Myanmar (former Burma).

From RSNA:
The RSNA has supported international education through its International Visiting Professor Program since 1986. This program, administered by CIRE, supports small teams of visiting professors to lecture at national or regional radiology meetings of societies in or serving developing nations, as well as at selected host institutions with radiology residency training programs, in those countries. The program seeks dynamic, experienced radiology teachers who currently hold an academic appointment in North America or other developed country, as designated by the World Health Organization. The IVP must adapt his or her presentation to the host country’s local disease patterns, medical priorities, and specific educational needs. Appointed IVPs are asked to be available for up to a two-week visit, with time spent at the national society meeting and traveling to two to three host institutions.
