Dr. Roberta Strigel of the Breast Imaging Section was recently awarded the Judith Stitt Career Development Award from the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation (WWHF). The award ceremony drew a large group committed to women’s health to Milwaukee on November 15. Thanks to the support of the Department of Radiology Finance Committee an enthusiastic cohort from the UW Breast Imaging team was able to attend.
Dr. Strigel’s award will support her work in developing breast MRI sequences that optimize both temporal and spatial resolution, providing $50,000 over two years to facilitate development of her research program. In addition, Dr. Strigel’s award will be matched by funds from the Department of Radiology R&D fund.
In her acceptance speech, Dr. Strigel thanked the WWHF and UW Radiology, and assured the group that they had made a wise investment that would make a substantial difference to her future in academic medicine.
