Dr. Weibo Cai Awarded a $720K American Cancer Society Research Scholar Grant

Weibo Cai, Assistant Professor of Radiology and Medical Physics Medical Physics, was recently awarded an American Cancer Society Research Scholar Grant which will start in July 2013. The grant is entitled “Imaging Biomarkers for Combination Therapy of Prostate Cancer”.

The American Cancer Society Research Scholar Grants support investigator-initiated projects across the cancer research continuum, and independent investigators in the first six years of an independent research career or faculty appointment are eligible. The grant is for 4 years with $150K direct cost per year. Dr. Todd E. Barnhart, Director of the UW Cyclotron Facility, is a co-investigator on the grant. Professors George Wilding, R. Jerry Nickles, and Glenn Liu are all consultants on the grant.
