We are delighted to share that Dr. Perry Pickhardt of the UW Department of Radiology has been announced as the second place recipient of the 2010 European Radiology ESGAR Award.
The award, distributed by the renowned European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology, was awarded to the paper, “Positive predictive value for polyps detected at screening CT colonography,” written by Dr. Pickhardt, S.M. Wise and D.H. Kim.
Dr. Pickhardt will formally receive his award Saturday, May 21, 2011, during the Opening of the Congress at ESGAR’s 22nd Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course in Venice, Italy.
The UW School of Medicine and Public Health’s Abdominal Imaging Section welcomed Dr. Pickhardt in 2003. Beginning as an Associate Professor of Radiology, he was promoted to a Professor in 2009. His primary research and clinical interests include CT colonography and colorectal cancer screening.
