Jamey Weichert, PhD

Radiology professor Jamey Weichert, PhD, co-director for the Initiative for Theranostics and Particle Therapy (ITPT) spoke about the exciting field of theranostics with The Capital Times during their Idea Fest Session held in September.

Dr. Weichert explained that theranostics is a promising approach to treat cancers because clinicians do not need to know the precise location before using it as a treatment; and treatment is highly targeted to affect only cancerous tissues.

Colleagues Howard Bailey, MD and Zachary Morris, MD, PhD also took part in the session, along with Greg Piefer of SHINE technologies.
