Pallavi Tiwari, PhD and former graduate student Ruchika Verma, PhD are harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) to detect subtle patterns in medical images to forecast how quickly a glioblastoma tumor can grow. From this, they can form a better understanding of what a patient’s prognosis may be as well as the best course of treatment.

During their research, Drs. Tiwari and Verma developed an AI model that was able to identify risk factors that are associated with each sex; and found that high-risk factors differ between males and females diagnosed with glioblastoma.
