Radiology nurses make important contributions to department

Posted on May 2013

Radiology Nurses serve as an integral part of the Department of Radiology inter-professional team.

Nurses within the Department of Radiology skillfully blend advances in technology with the art of caring and compassion. The role of the nurse during invasive procedures and tests is to not only perform accurate assessments and monitoring, but also to assure patients are comfortable and safe within a technically oriented setting.

Radiology Nurses have a background in critical care nursing and are credentialed in moderate sedation. These highly qualified nurses work cohesively with other members of the health care team to deliver specialized, high quality nursing care to a diverse population of acute, critical, and non-acute patients within multiple modalities such as interventional radiology, procedural prep and recovery, computed tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and ultrasound.

It is my distinct pleasure to recognize the contributions of the radiology nursing team. Through their skill, care and compassion, the radiology nurses help to drive forward unsurpassed, high quality care in a manner that is patient and family centered.
