Radiology Student Mentored by Drs. Grist and Wieben Granted RSNA Award

Posted on September 2012

Andrew Wentland, an M.D. /Ph.D. candidate, mentored by Chairman Dr. Tom Grist and Assistant Professor Oliver Wieben, M.D. of the Imaging Sciences Section, was recently granted the opportunity to participate in the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Introduction to Academic Radiology Program. He was one of only two graduate students selected for this award, which is typically reserved for second-year radiology residents. The review committee selected Wentland based on his publication record and commitment to academic radiology.

The RSNA Introduction to Academic Radiology Program is co-sponsored by RSNA, the Association of University Radiologists, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. This program is meant to introduce residents to academic radiology, demonstrate the importance of research in diagnostic radiology, and illustrate the importance of academic careers in radiology.

Wentland will attend the program at the annual RSNA meeting in Chicago, IL this November.
