Radiology T-shirt Sale Helps Raise Breast Cancer Awareness, Money For UW Carbone Cancer Center

Posted on August 2013

The Department of Radiology is helping raise awareness for breast cancer by participating in a t-shirt sale to benefit the UW Carbone Cancer Center. According to Jessica Harried of Breast Imaging, over 250 t-shirts were sold and $1000 raised to support our colleagues in their continuing breast cancer research. The shirts should arrive by mid-September, and Radiology staff are allowed to wear them every Friday in October to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With the chance of a woman getting breast cancer at 1 in 8 and over 2.9 million breast cancer survivors in the United States, according to cancer.org, the Department of Radiology is enthusiastic to support this important cause.
