UW Radiologists Run A Honky-tonk Half Marathon

Several members of UW Radiology swapped their lab coats for cowboy boots and ten gallon hats and joined 500 other participants to run 13.1 miles in the Wisconsin Dells Honky Tonk Half Marathon on Sunday, October 20.

Participants included residents Drs. Eric Hartman, Hailey Allen, Andrew Schapiro, and Mark Kleedehn, as well as faculty members Drs. Fred T. Lee, Jr. and Bradley Maxfield.

Dr. Schapiro placed 3rd in his age division, and placed 17th overall with a time of 1:35:56, averaging 7.19 minutes to run a mile.

Dr. Hartman placed 7th in his age division, and placed 30th overall, with a time of 1:41:02, averaging 7.43 minutes to run a mile.

Dr. Maxfield also placed 3rd in his age division, and placed 38th overall with a time of 1:43:35, averaging 7.54 minutes to run a mile.

Drs. Kleedehn, Allen, and Lee all placed within the top 200 out of a total of 505 participants.

As a prize for finishing the race, UW Radiologists were given a congratulatory belt buckle in lieu of a medal, as well as a cowboy hat. The finishers proudly wore their apparel to work on Monday.
