Visiting Associate Professor Harald Kramer, M.D. Accepts Bracco Grant

On July 17, Visiting Associate Professor Harald Kramer, M.D. formally accepted his unrestricted educational grant from Bracco Diagnostics, which will allow him to work in the Department of Radiology for the next year. This grant is made possible by an extremely well-established partnership between UW Radiology and Ludwig-Maximilians University – Munich, forged in large part by Chairman Tom Grist, M.D., FACR, and Chief of Cardiovascular Imaging Scott Reeder, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Kramer came to the University of Wisconsin last summer, and quickly dove into his research interests. His main focus is cardiovascular and abdominal MR, and he is working together with Drs. Reeder, Oliver Wieben, and Frank Korosec on a variety of projects. These projects include fat quantification in the liver, flow dynamics in patients with portal hypertension, the evaluation of new MR angiography techniques, and some basic science on oxygen-enhanced MRI.

Since traveling to Wisconsin, Dr. Kramer and his family have enjoyed Madison, and have spent their free time exploring the rest of the state.
