This project will compare the performance of non-contrast morphologic MRI relative to CT and pulmonary function tests in characterizing disease severity in cystic fibrosis patients. The goal of this work is to develop an MR-specific scoring system for tracking disease severity and response to therapy in cystic fibrosis patients. A robust and sensitive MRI biomarker for disease progression would help facilitate evaluation of the many therapeutic options being developed for cystic fibrosis without the need for ionizing radiation.
