The value of this project is the opportunity to see for the first time the early pathology that occurs in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) from neurofibrillary tangles. The hypothesis is that this pathology may explain the earliest cognitive changes that occur in AD. The primary assessments are brain MRI (to assess brain structure, blood flow and changes due to atrophy), PET amyloid imaging, and PET tau imaging.
