Biography
Eric Monroe, MD is an Associate Professor (CHS) of Radiology in the Interventional Radiology and Pediatric Radiology sections. He specializes in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures with special expertise in pediatrics. Dr. Monroe studied Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and subsequently earned his medical degree with honors from Washington University in Saint Louis. He undertook a preliminary year at the Colorado Health Foundation followed by a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Washington. Dr. Monroe then completed a Vascular & Interventional Radiology fellowship in 2015 and subsequently joined faculty at the University of Washington. Dr. Monroe has authored or coauthored over 80 articles in radiology in addition to multiple chapters and textbooks on imaging and intervention. He is a regular lecturer at national and international meetings and serves on the American College of Radiology's (ACR) Expert Panel on Interventional Radiology. His professional interests include education, healthcare technology and clinical program development. His clinical interests include portal hypertension, renovascular hypertension, liver transplant interventions, deep venous thrombosis and interventional oncology. Dr. Monroe has been a University of Wisconsin faculty member since 2021.
