Renal Transplant Research Group Awarded Third NIH Grant

The Renal Transplant Research Group has been awarded their third NIH grant for $1,250,000. This RO1 is titled “Role of Nox2 in CNI-induced renal fibrosis” and will investigate the roles of oxidative stress, renal perfusion and oxygenation on the development of chronic renal disease in patients with transplanted organs. Drs. Elizabeth Sadowski (Radiology), Sean Fain (Medical Physics) and Aji Djamali (Nephrology) have collaborated on multiple projects over the past 10 years, receiving nearly $5,000,000 in grant funding for their work.
