The Society of Interventional Radiology awarded Dr. Andrew B. Crummy its Gold Medal on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, for his work to improve the quality of medicine and patient care.

Dr. Crummy, who completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at UWHC, collaborated with UW Radiology’s Charles Strother, MD, and Charles Mistretta, PhD, in the 1970s. Together, they worked on developing digital subtraction angiography (DSA), which has proven to be indispensible in vascular and cardiology radiology today.
