This project was funded by: NIH

The term of this project was: July 2016 to June 2017

The number of subjects scanned during this project was: 40

Our goal is to determine the long-term sequelae of preterm birth and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) on pulmonary vascular and right ventricular structure and function, and ventricular-vascular interactions. Children with a history of very premature birth will be asked to exercise in the MRI scanner, and using the images obtained from the MRI, we will determine cardiac function and right ventricular and pulmonary vascular interaction both at rest and during exercise.
