T2 Mapping and T1-rho Mapping Sequences for Assessing Osteochondral Transplantation

The PI of this project was:

This project was funded by: Clinical MRI Examination

The term of this project was: November 2012 to December 2014

The number of subjects scanned during this project was: 50

This project will determine whether T2-mapping and T1-rho mapping sequences can be used to evaluate osteochondral transplantation. T2 and T1-rho mapping sequences will be performed on patients who have undergone osteochondral transplantation for treatment of full-thickness cartilage defects within the knee joint. The T2 and T1-rho relaxation time of the osteochondral graft will be compared with the morphologic appearance of the graft as well as the integrity of the graft at subsequent second-look arthroscopy.
