Medical Imaging Research Support (MIRS)

circle divided in 4 parts: technical consideration, protocol development, imaging procedures, image analysis (MIRS-IA) Free Consultation Request

The UW Department of Radiology Medical Imaging Research Support (MIRS) provides assistance to UW research teams interested in using medical imaging as an outcome measure. Services include imaging-specific advice with respect to protocol development, imaging manual creation, regulatory requirements, nursing and study coordination, budget, and the use of well-validated image analysis available through the Radius medical image analysis lab. Services are closely integrated with the Wisconsin Institute for Medical Research (WIMR) Imaging Services Center and involve the research program managers for each imaging modality to ensure that imaging procedures are planned in accordance with the requirements, policies, and procedures of the WIMR Imaging Services Center. A major component of MIRS operations involves close coordination with the UW Carbone Cancer Center Imaging Core to support the multiple ongoing oncologic studies that make use of imaging.
