Highlights from the ARRS 2023 Meeting

The 2023 meeting of the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) took place from Sunday, April 16 to Thursday, April 20 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
UW-Madison’s Department of Radiology made their presence known at the meeting. Each day, multiple faculty members, residents, and fellows presented their research, participated in panel discussions, or led courses. Take a look at the full schedule here.

Three trainees from the Department received awards recognizing the exceptional promise and merit of the work they presented at ARRS.
•Jade Anderson, MD, a Musculoskeletal Fellow, received the ARRS 2023 Certificate of Merit for the educational exhibit “Decoding the Musculoskeletal Physical Exam: A Radiologist’s Visual Guide with Imaging Correlations.” Dr. Anderson was mentored by Joseph Tang, MD.
•Craig Tork, MD, a Neuroradiology Fellow, received a Bronze Medal for the educational exhibit “What Did You Say? Imaging Laryngeal Cancer and What the Surgeon Wants to Know.” Dr. Tork was mentored by Greg Avey, MD.
•Sarah Daggett, a SMPH student, received the ARRS 2023 Emerging Research Silver Medal for her project, “Image-Guided Percutaneous Mesenteric and Bowel Biopsy: Diagnostic Yield and Safety Profile.”

Despite a busy conference schedule, members of the Department made time to relax and soak up the sun, too. On Monday, April 17, residents, fellows, and faculty gathered to enjoy a social event at the Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.
