The UW Department of Radiology played a pivotal role in earning the federal tech hub designation and is on the forefront of the transformative work the funding will drive.
July 11th, 2024Pallavi Tiwari, PhD received a $3.4 million, multi-institutional grant from the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute for the project “Radiomic spatial maps for identifying viable tumor extent on multi-parametric MRI for Glioblastoma.” This novel project will be the first to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to detect hard-to-see glioblastoma tumor edges during a clinical trial.

July 3rd, 2024Frederick Kelcz, MD, PhD, FACR is set to retire in August, leaving behind an impressive legacy. Dr. Kelcz played a pivotal role in establishing MRI as a clinical screening tool and was among the first wave of physicians to advocate for MRI screening for breast cancer.
