Through various efforts, faculty members, residents and alumni shared their professional insights with government representatives and the public in pursuit of funding and legislation that will help launch careers and save lives.

In July 2024, Allison Grayev, MD assumed the role as program director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency program in the University of Wisconsin Department of Radiology. Since taking the reins as director, Dr. Grayev has empowered residents to have agency in their training and help ensure the already successful program continued to meet the needs of both the department and the residents.

Deanna (Dede) Rice began her career at University Hospital in 1986 and served in various roles at University Hospital, American Family Children’s Hospital, East Madison Hospital, and the ambulatory clinics. To celebrate her retirement, Dede reflected on her 39 years of experience.

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) featured the new MRI Smart Suite at UW Health’s Eastpark Medical Center in the article, “Optimized MRI Suites Enable High-Volume Turnaround, Better Access for Patients,” which was published on May 8, 2025 and included in the recent RSNA News issue. UW Department of Radiology Chair Scott Reeder, MD, PhD provided an overview of the process his team took to collect and analyze data before applying the insight to the architectural design.
