Biography
Dr. Meg Lubner is a professor (CHS) of Radiology in the Abdominal Imaging Section. She joined the staff in 2009 after completing an abdominal imaging fellowship at UW–Madison and residency training at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to residency training, she obtained both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the UW–Madison, and was glad to return home to Wisconsin for her fellowship. Her research interests include new technology in computed tomography including dual energy and iterative reconstruction, image guided tumor ablation, and oncologic imaging. Personal interests include running, reading, and all varieties of Badger sports.

Meghan Lubner recognized as an outstanding educator and mentor, completes international tour
Over the past year, Meghan Lubner, MD received local and national awards, including the Igor Laufer Professorship from the Society of Abdominal Radiology. This honor gave her the opportunity to travel almost 70,000 miles visiting radiology programs and attending conferences across the globe.

Perry Pickhardt, MD and Meghan Lubner, MD’s research, “Fully Automated and Explainable Liver Segmental Volume Ratio and Spleen Segmentation at CT for Diagnosing Cirrhosis,” was featured on the cover of the September 2022 edition of Radiology: Artificial Intelligence.
Meghan Lubner awarded Novel Methods Pilot Award from the UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research
With the award, Meghan Lubner, MD and her team received a grant of up to $50,000 for 12 months of support for their research using precise radiologic pathologic correlation to define the imaging signature of aggressive pathologic components of renal cell carcinoma.
