The annual Zachary Clark Radiology Research Symposium celebrates high-caliber research projects conducted by our residents and fellows. This year’s symposium took place on Saturday, May 6 in the Health Sciences Learning Center (as well as virtually via WebEx).
This research symposium is dedicated to the memory of Zachary Clark MS, MD, one of our former radiology residents. Dr. Clark was an excellent clinician loved by all his colleagues and faculty. He had a remarkable passion for Neuroradiology, especially cerebrovascular disease research. In the spirit of his passion for research, the symposium is dedicated to Dr. Zachary Clark.
After breakfast and introductory remarks from Scott Reeder, MD, PhD, nine trainees gave oral presentations, followed by a period for poster and exhibit viewing in the virtual exhibit hall. Then, Vikas Gulani, MD, PhD and Nicole Seiberlich, PhD gave the keynote address. Their inspiring talk, “Basic and Clinical Team Collaboration for Translational Science: MR Fingerprinting as an Example,” focused on how collaborations between scientists and physicians can move the field of radiology forward.
The symposium concluded with the presentation of awards for the best oral presentations and electronic exhibits.
This event highlights both the excellence of trainee-led research and the Department’s commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders in radiology. We congratulate all of our trainees for their hard work and achievement, and thank the faculty and staff that made this event possible!
