Second Year Diagnostic Radiology Residents
Matt spent his sunny youth in Troy, MI. He attended the University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Realizing that Madison was the best in the Midwest, he relocated to Wisconsin and started employment at a local unnamed software vendor. This was a poor choice, and instead, he went with his backup plan to attend the medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, completing a transitional year at Ascension St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee the next year. His activities include ballroom dancing, bonsai, and guitar. His other activities include videogames.

After taking a gap year as an EMT back on Long Island, he attended medical school at Boston University where he met his wife. Alex then completed the internal medicine internship at UW. Erik Winterholler, MD is from Salt Lake City Utah, but lived in the Midwest for parts of his childhood. He was happy to come back for medical school and now residency. In medical school, he realized he wanted to go into radiology, specifically Interventional Radiology, because of his previous work experience that interfaced heavily with IR. His professional interests includes informatics and health policy. He hopes to be involved in medical device development in his career. In his free time, Dr. Winterholler loves the outdoors and touring the state parks in Wisconsin and surrounding states. His hobbies include music, both appreciation and playing (he played guitar in a rock band for 4 years in college), powerlifting, snowboarding, skiing, hiking and cycling, and coffee brewing and tasting.
